Oakdene Primary School is situated in Billingham in Borough of Stockton On Tees. Children are drawn from a wide catchment area and the school is very popular. The School is a one form entry school.

In July 2008, Ofsted reported: ‘ Oakdene Primary is a good school with outstanding features. It offers excellent provision for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and also the most able. The outstanding curriculum is enriched by valuable partnerships with local schools and external agents. The school provides a warm, welcoming and secure environment where effective teaching alongside high levels of care promotes learning that is enjoyable, meaningful and consistently good.’

We are a very successful school, continually aiming higher and have received many awards to support this view.

We have achieved the Activemark, Healthy Schools Gold Award , Creative Partnership Enquiry School, Artsmark Gold Award, RHS Gold Award, Fmsis and the Investors In People Gold Award.

In July 2008, OFSTED judged our curriculum as Outstanding. In recognition of our innovative curriculum, we are a Teacher Learning Academy Lead School, Food For Life Flagship School, Climate Change Lead School, Curriculum Advocate School for the National College and a National Education Trust Advocacy School.

All staff in the school share the vision of an inclusive curriculum and are involved in realising it in day to day practice, and also in developing an International Dimension.
