Oakdene Primary School is situated in Billingham in Borough of Stockton on Tees. Children are drawn from a wide and mixed catchment area, the school is very popular. We are currently a 1.5 form entry school in all classes except Y3.
In March 2013, Ofsted judged our school to be outstanding in all areas. If you haven’t already read the report- it makes excellent reading and will help you to consider whether Oakdene is the right school for you.
In July 2008, Ofsted judged our curriculum as Outstanding. In 2013, it is recognised that the curriculum has moved beyond outstanding. It is described as being ‘exceptional’ and ‘first class’. The curriculum has been a lever for raising standards in literacy and numeracy.
We are a very successful school, continually aiming higher and have received many awards to support this view. We have achieved the Basic Skills Quality Mark Award, Early Years Quality Mark Award, Learning Outside the Classroom Silver Mark, Fair Active School, Eco Schools Silver Award, Rights Respecting Gold Award, School Games Silver Mark, Eco Schools Silver, Primary Quality Science Mark Gilt Award, Artsmark Platinum Award and the Investors In People Gold Award.
In recognition of our innovative curriculum, we are a National Support School, Ofsted Research School, Food For Life Flagship School, Climate Change Lead School, Curriculum Advocate School for the National College and a National Education Trust Advocacy School.
All staff in the school share the vision of an inclusive curriculum and are involved in realising it in day to day practice.
